Most people know this, but Tom and I were set up. You hear all these horror stories about being set up, but our friends were dead on. When we were first getting to know each other, the thing that amazed me the most was just how similar Tom and I were. I will probably be teased about this, but I remember a specific occasion, when we were at Xtreme Pizza with the two that had set us up, and somehow we had got onto the subject of Lord of the Rings. We were talking about how the actors spoke in Elvish in the movies, when Tom said "You know, Tolkien actually invented three different Elvish languages-" to which I interrupted "Sindarin, Quenya, and a written language-Tengwar." Our friends just stared at us and shook there heads, but apparently Tom and I had gone through similar phases in middle school where we had tried to learn the languages. The even geekier part is how much that attracted me to him. :)
